How Business Improvement Districts are Transforming London's Urban Landscape

Team London Bridge, Better Bankside, New West End Company, The Northbank BID

Business Improvement Districts are business led partnerships which deliver additional services to local businesses and their respective areas. There are over 50 BIDs in London, acting as a powerful tool for directly involving local businesses and important stakeholders in order to improve the local trading environment.

Considerable work has been going towards encouraging sustainable and green neighbourhoods and developing the public realm, so we’re bringing together a selection of central London BIDs to share how they’re pushing for a transformed environment.

Team London Bridge – Creating a series of green boulevards, quietways, alleyways and street furniture to transform the pedestrian and cycling experience as the new train station nears completion.

Better Bankside – Urban Forest projects bringing new life and uses to the outdoor spaces of Bankside.

New West End Company – Working with Westminster and Transport for London to transform traffic on Oxford Street and create the world’s best outdoor street shopping experience.

The Northbank BID – Transforming the Strand and Aldwych public realm and a flavour of the 100 other projects identified to improve green infrastructure, traffic calming and improve the air quality.
