This event is an exhibition showcasing a project by students at the London College of Communication in collaboration with Southwark Council. The projects respond to the recent Southwark Kerbside Strategy. The brief was to investigate and transform a kerbside site within Elephant & Castle’s built environment. Working in groups, students were asked to provide an alternative use for kerbside locations to address the big issues facing Southwark as an inner London borough, to regenerate streets beyond parking requirements and reconnect people with the street.

Key considerations while designing were enriching people’s experience of Southwark’s kerbside, imbuing the location with a sense of place and providing people with a sense of belonging and purpose.

Student projects will be on display in Southwark Council’s foyer from Tues 16th May to Friday 19th May. Voting will open for the people’s choice award for the best response to the brief throughout the week. The winners will be announced on Friday 19th May from 5pm – 7pm.

Please note: You can drop it at any time for the exhibition but would need to book via the link below for the Friday night event
