This event is an exhibition showcasing a project by students at the London College of Communivcation and is in collaboration with external partners Southwark Council and Open City. Students were asked to investigate and transform a kerbside site within Southwark’s built environment using design schemes based on the policies and principles as outlined in the Kerbside strategy animation.

Working in collaboration, their projects seen here respond to the recent Southwark Kerbside Strategy. They have addressed at least one of the following issues in the design: Air Quality / Point to point driver journeys into London / Demands on space / Climate change / Age friendly

Key considerations while designing were how could people’s experience of Southwark’s kerbside be enriched, as well as how was it possible to imbue the location with a sense of place, and provide people with a sense of belonging and purpose.
