'Take a tour of the King’s Cross Energy Centre which currently houses 2 of GE’s Jenbacher 612 reciprocating gas engines running at the heart of the development scheme, delivered by Vital Energi. When complete, there will be over 45,000 people living, working and studying in this regenerated area of London; an area spanning 66 acres, with 50 new buildings, 2,500 new homes, 20 new streets, and 10 new parks and public spaces.

The world-class energy and utility network designed, implemented and operated by Metropolitan shows how high quality energy systems can contribute to the delivery of sustainable communities. Metropolitan’s district heat network at King’s Cross Combined Heat and Power (CHP) plant generates 50% saving in carbon emissions based on traditional utility solution, 80% efficient compared to 30% in the conventional UK electricity supply.
